Covid-19 toll crosses 16 lakh mark in India..

New Delhi, July 31 (HS) The number of Corona patients in the country has crossed 1.6 million mark. More than 55 thousand new cases of Corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. This is the largest figure ever. With this, the number of Corona patients has increased to 16,38,871.

At the same time, 779 people died in the last 24 hours from Corona. Thus the death toll from Corona has risen to 35,747.

There are 5,45,318 active patients in the country, said the Union Health Ministry. At the same time, 37,224 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours in the country.

So far, 10,57,806 patients have been recovered from Corona. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 64.54 percent.

As the number of Covid-19 patients are increasing in the country, the central government has also increased the number of Corona tests. More than 6 lakh Corona patients were examined in the last 24 hours in the country. This is the largest figure ever. A total of more than 88 million tests have been conducted so far.

According to data released by the ICMR on Friday, 6,42,588 tests have been done on Thursday. This is the largest number of tests conducted so far.

With this, 13,181 tests are being done per million people in the country, which is even higher than the World Health Organization standards.

In addition, the government is also increasing the number of labs across the country. So far 1321 labs have been established in the country, out of which 907 are government labs and 414 are private labs.

Rajasthan has the lowest positivity rate of 3.5 percent followed by Punjab and Madhya Pradesh that have a Corona positive rate of 3.9 and 4 per cent respectively.
