Kolkata, Sept 03 (HS) Tata Power, India's largest integrated power utility has announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Motors to commission India’s largest Carport.

"With 6.2 MW capacity, the project was expected to reduce 1.6 lakhs tonnes of carbon emission for Tata Motors in its lifetime", said Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD Tata Power.
Further speaking about the unique project he said, "The grid-connected carport plant would require high-level engineering and customised designing to assemble the massive carport structures.

Since advanced technology and intricate planning was Tata Power’s strength it would facilitate them to execute the project soon," he added.
"We are confident that this PPA will complement our efforts to lower the carbon footprint and we look forward to exploring new ways to harness clean resources and implement them in our business operations," Sinha said.

When commissioned this would be India’s largest Solar carport to help Tata Power in reducing its carbon emissions.
