Amit Shah pays tribute to Gangadhar Tilak on his 100th death anniversary.

New Delhi, 01 August (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday paid tribute to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his 100th death anniversary. He said, "Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak ji has an incomparable contribution to the freedom movement, he dedicated his ideological generation of revolutionaries by dedicating every moment of his life to the nation.”

Shah said that Tilak ji raised the voice of Swaraj against the British. He gave new courage and faith in the country.

In another tweet, Shah said, “Lokmanya Tilak is the soul of Indian culture and its consciousness. He was a strong opponent of untouchability, he launched a big movement to unite the society divided in caste and sects. Tilak ji started the public Ganesh Utsav to inspire the people afraid of the British for freedom.”

The Home Minister also said, “Lokmanya Tilak Ji's study was unlimited. His thoughts, works and research can reflect his deep thinking. He believed that when the country is caught in the shackles of slavery, then karmayog is needed, not devotion and salvation. A tribute to him on the 100th death anniversary.”

Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda bowed down to Tilak ji and said, "I salute him on the death anniversary of such a great freedom fighter, social reformer, Lokmanya Balagangadhar Tilak ji.”
