Army officer injured in encounter with terrorists in J&K's Baramulla ,

Srinagar, Sept 04 (HS) An Indian Army officer was injured during a gunbattle with terrorists in a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
The encounter broke out in Yedipora village in Pattan area on Friday morning. Reports said that security forces were conducting a search operation in the area and they were fired upon, triggering the encounter.

The officer was injured in the initial exchange of firing and has been rushed to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. Two to three terrorists are still trapped while personnel of the police, army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are engaged in flushing them out. The area has been cordoned off and the encounter is still underway.

“Firefight is on after the evacuation of civilians from the area. One officer injured during the operation, stable. Joint operation in progress.” Kashmir based Chinar Corps tweeted. 

The development comes hours after security forces arrested three Overground Workers (OGW) of a terror group in Baramulla's Pattan area on Thursday.
